A Letter from Our Founder
A Letter from Our Founder
Heidi Kunzli, MS, DipACLM, LADC
For much of the last twenty-five years, I believed people came to us seeking therapy, psychiatry, coaching, nutrition, fitness, or medical expertise. What I’ve learned is that they are actually seeking something much more fundamental. They are seeking change.
The individuals and families who come to Privé-Swiss are often extraordinarily successful. They have access to the best physicians, therapists, consultants, and resources available. Information is rarely their problem.
Yet many arrive feeling stuck. A founder who can no longer perform at the level they once did. A spouse struggling with depression despite every external advantage. An adult child whose life has become increasingly limited by anxiety. A successful individual concerned about cognitive decline, burnout, or loss of purpose.
Over the years, I began to notice something important. Transformation rarely occurs because of a single expert, a single intervention, or a single breakthrough moment. It occurs when the right elements are brought together in the right sequence, at the right intensity, within the right environment.
The question is not simply who should be involved.
The question is: Which professionals are needed? In what order? For how long?
How do we engage someone who is resistant to help? How do we create accountability without creating dependence? How do we coordinate multiple disciplines around a single human being? How do we create an environment where meaningful change can occur? For over thirty years, these have been the questions that have guided my work.
I am not a psychiatrist, neurologist, or longevity physician. My role has been different. My role has been understanding how mental health, cognitive health, physical health, relationships, environment, accountability, and expert care must be integrated to create lasting transformation.
This is what I believe many healthcare systems still struggle to do.
We have become increasingly specialized. Yet human beings do not experience life in separate compartments. Mental health affects cognitive performance. Cognitive health affects confidence and independence. Physical health affects emotional wellbeing. Relationships influence every aspect of recovery and resilience. The future of mental health, cognitive health, and longevity is not simply better interventions. It is better integration.
Today, as conversations about longevity continue to grow, I believe we must broaden our focus beyond lifespan alone. The goal is not merely to live longer. The goal is to preserve cognitive vitality, emotional wellbeing, purpose, connection, and quality of life for as long as possible.
That requires more than expertise. It requires a system.
Designing that system and helping individuals and families navigate it has been the focus of my work since founding Privé-Swiss in 2001.
