Karen Bridbord, Ph.D

Psychologist, Family and Couples

Karen Bridbord, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist with more than two decades of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and organizations navigating complex, high-stakes challenges.

A Certified Gottman Therapist, Dr. Bridbord helps couples identify the relational patterns that intensify conflict and erode trust, integrating evidence-based relationship science with attachment and family systems perspectives. She works primarily with families whose lives involve significant responsibility, public visibility, and/or a shared multigenerational workplace.

Her dual training in clinical and organizational psychology extends this work to leadership teams and boards where personal relationships intersect with succession, governance, wealth, and enterprise performance. She advises founders and family-owned businesses across the construction, legal, banking, and arts sectors, creating an environment that is psychologically safe and accountable — one where difficult conversations can occur and positive transformation can unfold.

Her award-winning book, The Relationship-Driven Leader: Strengthening Connections to Enhance Productivity and Wellness at Work, reflects her career-long focus on the relationships and behavioral patterns that shape healthy human systems at home and in the workplace.

Dr. Bridbord holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University at Buffalo, an MA in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, and a BA in Clinical Psychology from Tufts University. She completed her doctoral internship at Duke University and a postdoctoral fellowship at the William Alanson White Institute.
